Ghosts of Knaresborough Castle
Knaresborough Castle is a small ruin located on a cliff overlooking the River Nidd in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England. It was built in the early 12th century. The crown owned the castle through the 15th century. It was slighted and left ruined in 1648 after Parliamentarian troops were ordered to dismantle all Royalist castles in 1644.
Despite its brief history of significant activity, the castle still has some ghosts.
Knaresborough Castle has two resident wraiths who seem to be locked in eternal combat. The ghost of a man has been seen standing over another person's spirit, lying on the ground. The standing man seems to have his arm raised as though he is about to attack the person on the ground before they both fade away.
